The Genetics Society

The Genetics Society is a British learned society. It was founded by William Bateson in 1919 and therefore is one of the oldest learned societies devoted to genetics.

The society publishes the journal Heredity, in addition to The Genetics Society Newsletter. It is also associated with the journal Genes & Development, published by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press.[1]

The current president of the society is Veronica van Heyningen.
